Focus: The field of forensic phonetics deals with using our knowledge of phonetics in order to help solve crimes. This is relevant in real life cases, e.g. when an audio recording but no other information about the crime exists.
Minimum Education Level: Undergraduate


Description:
This course will provide an introduction to different areas within the field
of forensic phonetics, such as speaker comparison, sociophonetics, accent
analysis, auditory and acoustic analysis, earwitness identification,
transcriptions of questioned content and more.

Students will gain an understanding of the field of forensic speech science.
Furthermore, the participants will gain an understanding of the methods
involved in dealing with analysis of spoken language, which will be applicable
in other areas of language analysis.

an International Partner: No Fee
