Meeting Description:

The Applied Language and Culture Studies Research Lab invites proposals for
papers, posters and workshops to be presented at its 4th International
Conference on Cultures and Languages in Contact to be held at the School of
Humanities and Social Sciences-EL Jadida, Morocco on 14-15 December, 2016.

The goal of this international conference is to bring together scholars
working on current issues within the context of languages and cultures.
Specifically, the conference seeks to provide an overview of the
state-of-the-art and explore new directions and emerging trends in cultures
and languages. 

The language of the conference is English.

The conference registration fee is 80 Euros (800 Moroccan Dirhams) covering
access to all sessions, 1 lunch, coffee breaks and conference materials.


Call for Papers:

Guidelines for Paper and Poster Submissions: 

Proposals for paper, poster presentations, and workshops should consist of a
title, an abstract, and a short summary. Titles should be no longer than 15
words. Abstracts are limited to 250 words in length, and summaries are limited
to 50 words. Individual paper sessions will be 30 minutes: 20 minutes for the
presentation and 10 minutes for questions and answers. Posters should measure
no more than 90cm x 120cm (3ft by 4ft). Poster presenters should plan to
present and discuss their work for at least one hour during their assigned
poster session. Workshops should be 45 minutes to 60 minutes in length.

- Interdisciplinarity and History Writing
- Society & Culture as reflected in translated Arabic works
- Migrant Writing & Diaspora
- Gender and Popular Culture
- Transnationalism & National Identity
- Cultures and Languages across the Curriculum
- Cultural Diversity & Language Planning
- Sociolinguistic Analysis of Multilingualism 
- Issues in literacy and adult basic education
- Issues in Applied Linguistics

Selected papers will be published in Special Volumes of Conference
Proceedings.
