Description:

The Speech Team of the Laboratoire Psychologie de la Perception (LPP) in Paris
invites applications for PhD position in developmental psychology/cognitive
neuropsychology/linguistics within the framework of the LABEX Empirical
Foundations of Linguistics.

The objective of the research project is to study cognitive and
neurophysiological mechanisms of attention associated with word learning and
word recognition in monolingual French learning and bilingual young children.
Both eye-tracking and event-related potential (ERP) techniques will be used in
the project. The research will be conducted at the LPP under the supervision
of Dr. Pia Rämä.

The position is available for 36 months starting September 2016. Salary will
be in accordance with the French PhD regulations (“contrat doctoral”).

Candidates should have a background in psychology, cognitive science,
neuropsychology, linguistics, or related fields. Other requirements include
excellent communication skills, experience with experimental methods and
statistical analyses, and willingness to learn new techniques. Previous
experience in collecting and analysing developmental data is desirable. The
working languages are French and English. Applicants from outside France are
encouraged to apply, but some knowledge of French is required in order to be
able to conduct the experimental work.
