Subject: Call for Papers: Editorial Universidad de Sevilla

The University of Seville (Spain) has made it possible to convert its former Servicio de Publicaciones into the new Editorial Universidad de Sevilla, (EUS). The publishing policy of the University has also fostered the creation or revitalisation of specific collections such as the Lingüística collection which, coming into existence in 1990, has been through a period of lesser relevance than expected.

To carry on with that policy, Rafael Cano Aguilar, Professor of Spanish Language at the University of Seville, has been appointed Director of the aforementioned collection. In accordance with the regulations of EUS, both an Editorial Board and an Advisory Board have been created for this academic enteprise. One representative of each and every linguistic branch in the Faculty of Philology is a member of the former; and suitably qualified scholars from different Spanish universities as well as from different universities from abroad also partake in the latter.
For that reason, we address all the members of Linguist List and linguists in general to ask you to submit high quality originals, pieces of work of scientific value, all of them coming into existence from rigorous research and investigation; however, other pieces of work of so-called ‘general information,’ are also very welcome. They may well range from works featured by having a theoretical scope to works that can be either methodological revisions or pure descriptive ones, in other words, everything that espouses, and is sheltered under, any area of knowledge linked to Linguistics.

The Director and the Advisory Board of the Collection intend to achieve one fundamental objective: to boost the submission of contributing pieces of work. Furthermore, as they have ultimate responsibility in the selection process, they also pre-select and filter out the corresponding pieces of work submitted to the Editorial Board of EUS for their publication. The normal selection procedure will certain comply with what is expected in scientific publications: the evaluation will be carried out by anonymous referees.

For the submission of originals or for any further information related to this collection, please, get in touch with:
