Description:

The American University of Sharjah, an internationally ranked and accredited
American-style university of 6000 students in the United Arab Emirates, seeks
a faculty member in Linguistics/Applied Linguistics.  Candidates should hold a
completed Ph.D. in Linguistics or Applied Linguistics with emphasis in one or
more of the following areas: Sociolinguistics, Linguistic Anthropology, Second
Language Pedagogies, Bilingual Education, ESL Classroom Technologies. The
faculty member will teach courses in the MATESOL program and the undergraduate
Language major as well as general education writing and communication courses.

Successful candidates will have a record of excellent teaching experience at
both the graduate and undergraduate levels, active scholarly publication, and
a commitment to productive institutional service. The University is fully
