Meeting Description:

The theme of the conference is ''Language, Literature and Society in Emerging
Africa'' and papers would be expected to consider the place and role of
language in different fields of research and academics and how the realization
of these roles would contribute to the development of these fields and Africa
in general.

The Department of Linguistics and Literary studies at the Ebonyi State
University, Abakaliki is pleased to announce that it will be hosting her first
interdisciplinary international conference.   The conference will focus on all
aspects of language, linguistics, society, from theoretical, descriptive,
analytical and historical perspectives.

Abstract Guidelines:

- Abstracts of proposed papers should not exceed two hundred and fifty (250)
words. Authors should ensure that abstracts reflect the title of their
paper(s).
- Author’s contact details (name, institutional affiliation, email address and
phone number) should be provided in a separate page or sheet.
- Language of Submission should be in English, French and Igbo languages
- All submissions are to be made electronically using ebsuling at gmail.com
- Abstracts are to be received by 31 April 2016.

Selected conference papers will be published in a special edition of the
Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities, EBSU Journal of Languages and
Linguistics and as conference proceedings.

Conference Registration Fees  (Covers  Conference Materials and Refreshments):

Participants from Africa -  $100 
Participants from outside Africa -  $150 
Retirees and Graduate Students from  outside Africa $100 
Participants from Nigeria – N 15, 000
Retirees and Graduate Students from  Nigeria - N5,000.00 

Accomodation:
 
Conference Hotels and Guest Houses will be negotiated at group rates for the
duration of the
conference. This will be communicated to participants by May 2016.
Accommodation, feeding and transport to and from conference venue= N15000
Accommodation will be provided in modest hotels located at the state capital
with 24 hours power and internet services.

August 2016 by 5pm.

Tour:

Participants are encouraged to register for the Tours to the Abakaliki Rice
Mill and the Ebonyi Salt Lake  with a modest token of N2,000.

Accomodation: 
 Symposium Hotels and Guest Houses will be negotiated at group rates for the
duration of the
 Symposium. This will be communicated to participants by June 2016
