Description:

Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) was founded in 1896 and is one of the
highest ranking universities in China with a world-class reputation. The
School of Humanities (SHSS) includes four categories of academic disciplines
covering Chinese Language and Literature, History, Philosophy, and Arts. The
School of Humanities has two undergraduate programs for disciplines of Chinese
Language and Literature (Sino-foreign culture exchange) and Chinese Language
(designed for overseas students); three undergraduate minor courses separately
for Chinese Language and Literature, History, and Musicology; three Master
degree programs separately for first-level discipline of Chinese Language and
Literature, Chinese History, and Philosophy; one professional Master degree
program for International Chinese Language Education; two PhD degree programs
for disciplines of comparative literature and cultural theory, and the Marxism
sinicization. The total number of faculty and staff currently working in the
School is 140 and there are 1700 students studying in the School.  

The School of Humanities seeks to hire a Tenure-track Assistant Professor.
Responsibilities of the appointees will include teaching, research, thesis
supervision, and student advising.

Applicants applying for the Tenure-track Assistant Professor should:

1. Have a doctoral degree in related studies from a well-known, top-ranking
university;
2. Have at least 3 years of overseas working experience (outside of China);
3. Be capable of teaching core courses;
4. Be younger than 40 years old.
