Linguistic Field(s): Psycholinguistics

Call Deadline: 18-Mar-2016

Meeting Description:

The Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at Ghent University is
organising the Conference on Multilingualism from 11th September to 13th
September 2016 in the centre of historic Ghent, in Belgium. The call is now
open for oral and poster presentations.

The Conference on Multilingualism actually has a longstanding tradition. It
started in 2005 at the University of Trento under the name ‘Workshop on
Bilingualism’. Since then, the name has been changed a couple of times to
‘Neurobilingualism’ and ‘Workshop of Neurobilingualism’. This makes the
current conference the ninth edition of the gathering. We decided to continue
the tradition under the somewhat broader label of ‘Conference on
multilingualism’ in order to include different aspects of cognition and not
limit the scope to just bilingualism.

Invited speakers are Tamar H. Gollan (UC San Diego), Jon Andoni Duñabeitia
(BCBL), and Narly Golestani (University of Geneva).

Call for Papers:

Participants wishing to present should submit a title and an abstract for
their presentation before 18 March 2016 by email to com2016 at ugent.be. Please
use the abstract template, which you can find on the website
http://www.com2016.ugent.be/abstract/index.htm. Abstracts should be no longer
than 400 words, including references. Notifications of acceptance will be sent
on 25 March 2016. Suitable topics for presentation are all cognitive aspects
of bilingualism and multilingualism, including (but not limited to) language
processing, cognitive control, and (working) memory. Please indicate in your
email whether you prefer a poster or oral presentation.
