Meeting Description:

The conference is organized by the Niigata Chapter of the Japan Association
for Language Teaching. Considering Niigata's position on the Japan Sea Coast
and our strong connections to the other countries around the Japan Sea Rim,
the conference focuses on Language Learning in the North East Asia Region
(N.E.A.R.). It provides an excellent opportunity to share ideas with a diverse
group of colleagues.


Call for Papers:

NEAR Language Education Conference 2016
Building Communities

The 8th Annual North East Asian Region (N.E.A.R.) Language Education
Conference will be held on Saturday, 11 June 2016 in Niigata, Japan. Teachers
and researchers working in language education are invited to submit proposals
for presentations and poster sessions in the following areas:

- Applied research, curriculum design
- Teaching practice / pedagogy
- Materials development                                     
- Assessment and evaluation

The theme of the conference will be Building Communities and presenters are
invited to explore original ideas, novel approaches and fresh perspectives.
Papers which balance theoretical frameworks with practical applicability are
preferred.

Presentation length: 40 minutes (including Q&A)

Submission deadline: 15 February 2016

Submission Procedure: Applications submitted online

Abstract (250-300 words) for vetting

Summary / description (150-200 words) for the conference handbook

Vetting Decisions Announced: 31 March 2016
