Meeting Description:

The 46th Poznań Linguistic Meeting (PLM2016) will be held on 15–17 September
2016 in Poznań. The leitmotif of the 46th PLM will be ''Linguistics and data:
A fresh look''. In view of the rapid growth of available data, both in terms
of its types and range, we will try to address the fundamental issue of the
nature of linguistic data as well as the resulting theoretical and
methodological challenges.

Keynote: Daniel Everett (Bentley University)
Przemyslaw Tajsner (Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan)
Johanna Barddal (Ghent University)
Peter Trudgill (University of Agder)

Special Events:

There will also be a debate related to the leitmotif of the conference. The
confirmed discussants are (in alphabetic order): Daniel Everett (Bentley
University), Przemyslaw Tajsner (Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan), Peter
Trudgill (University of Agder) and Ewa Waniek-Klimczak (University of Lodz). 


2nd Call for Papers:

We would like to remind you that the 46th Poznan Linguistic Meeting (PLM2016)
will be held on 15-17 September 2016 in Poznan, Poland. Please notice that the
submission deadline for the thematic session/workshop proposals is
approaching. 

The leitmotif of the conference will be ''Linguistics and data: A fresh
look''. In view of the rapid growth of available data, both in terms of its
types and range, we will try to address the fundamental issue of the nature of
linguistic data as well as the resulting theoretical and methodological
challenges. 

Submission: 

Proposals of papers for both oral and poster sessions related to this main
theme, as well as to other fields of modern linguistics, are invited. Each
paper in the oral session will be given 30 minutes, including 10 minutes for
discussion. Poster sessions will be an integral part of the conference
programme. The language of the conference is English.

We also invite proposals for THEMATIC/WORKSHOP SESSIONS. A proposal for a
workshop session should include a clear statement of its
objectives/topic/message (about 250 words) as well as at least four names of
proposed speakers (with affiliations) and a sample bibliography. Thematic
workshop proposals will be subject to review by our International Advisory
Board. Please submit your session proposal by email to plm at wa.amu.edu.pl

Please note that the organizer(s) of a thematic/workshop session will be
expected to solicit submissions, organize the reviewing process, and submit a
complete set of abstracts by the main submission deadline. 

All abstracts (including thematic/workshop session abstracts) will be
processed using the EasyChair conference management system. All regular
submissions (posters and presentations) will be reviewed by our International
Advisory Board.

- Submission deadline for the thematic session proposals: 24 January 2016 
- Notification of acceptance for thematic sessions: 07 February 2016
- Submission deadline for all abstracts (papers, posters and workshop session
paper abstracts): 20 March 2016
- Notification of acceptance for papers and posters: 24 April 2016
