Description:

This new hire will work as Speech Scientist on data collections for customer
projects. S/he will also maintain and extend the pool of students and
contractors that is located in Aachen and is crucial for several sites to
manage the customer projects.

The candidate needs linguistic skills as background knowledge. These are
needed to support, facilitate and validate the results of native speakers
creating input for data collections and assuring the quality of work packages
delivered by external suppliers.

Your responsibilities: 

- Preparing input for data collections in various languages
- Support and evaluation of data annotation
- Database management
- Training and supervision of external suppliers working on data collection
and annotation
- Execution of internal data collections
- Recruitment of new students for the Aachen students’ pool
- Distribution of the of daily work of Aachen students and contractors
- Handling invoices of contractors together with the Nuance Finance team

Your Profile:

Number of Years of Work Experience: Preferably at least 2 years of working
experience

Required Skills: 

- Excellent English and German language skills (written and spoken)
- Logistics and organizational managing skills

Preferred Skills: 

- Skills in at least one more European language
- Experience with data collection and corpus handling
- Scripting Skills (Python or Perl)

Education: Studies of linguistics or equivalent
