Meeting Description:

ELF has become a major and expanding field of academic research within applied
linguistics. Its interconnections with linguistics, pedagogy and a host of
other disciplines are being currently discussed, acknowledged, and further
investigated in the increasingly multilingual contexts that characterize the
era of globalization. In fact, ELF is gradually being recognised as one
manifestation of these multilingual environments in globalised societies, and
it does need to be researched for contributing to current developments in
multilingualism and language contact as well as in many other related fields
comprised in the broader applied linguistics field of research.

Call for Papers:

The Organizing Committee of ELF9, to be held at Universitat de Lleida on 27-29
June 2016, invites proposals for presentations in any ELF related areas
including but not limited to:

Defining and describing ELF
Approaches and Methodologies of ELF
ELF: Attitudes, Identity and Voices
ELF, Culture and Society
ELF and Language Policy
ELF and Additional Language Learning
ELF and Translation/Interpretation
ELF in Different Contexts and Domains
ELF pedagogy

Types of presentations:

Proposals are invited for paper presentations and poster presentations. The
conference will also include some special colloquia. If you are interested in
organizing one, please contact the conference organizers directly at
elf9 at dal.udl.cat to discuss your idea with them.

The paper presentation discusses and describes the presenter’s complete or
on-going work in relation to theory, empirical research or practice. Each
presentation will be given 20 minutes duration plus 10 minutes for discussion.

The poster presentation enables presenters to post their ideas, thoughts,
materials or data on a notice board and answer queries and respond to comments
from interested conference participants. Poster sessions will be scheduled as
part of the conference programme. Specific guidelines for poster presentations
will be sent together with the acceptance notice.

Each presenter may only submit a maximum number of 2 proposals.

Your abstracts must be submitted online at:

EasyChair for ELF9 »

Please provide a title and an abstract of between 150 and 250 words to
indicate the central issues that you wish to address. You can choose either
