Meeting Description:

The Lectureship of Romanian at the University of Lisbon, in partnership with
the Romanian Cultural Institute in Lisbon, is organizing the 5th edition of
the Conference dedicated to Romanian Studies at the University of Lisbon. This
year's edition will be preceded by the the 6th Annual Meeting of the Lecturers
of Romanian as a Foreign Language organized by the Romanian Language Institute
(12 - 13 May 2016).

The conference aims to bring together scholars in the field of translation and
comparative literary and cultural studies. The main goal is to create a space
of reflection upon the imported and exported cultural, literary and linguistic
assets from and into Romanian. This conference seeks to identify points of
reference in the dialogue between Romania and other European and non-European
cultures that could help better position Romanian culture and language in the
global village we currently live in.
