Call Deadline: 29-Feb-2016

Meeting Description:

The Sociolinguistics Circle is an annual one day conference organised by a
group of scholars working in the Low Countries (their names are appended
below). The aim of the conference is to convene students and researchers of
language variation, sociolinguistics and linguistic anthropology/ethnography
who have (some) connection to the Low Countries.

Particular emphasis is put on student participation: the conference is open to
researchers of all levels, and this year we warmly invite BA & MA-students to
submit their work. Students who wish to discuss work in progress can submit
their work for poster presentation.

After successful editions in Groningen and Ghent, we are happy to announce
that the third edition will be hosted by the Centre for Language Studies of
the Radboud University Nijmegen.

Call for Papers:

We welcome abstracts for paper and poster presentations which deal with
variationist, sociolinguistic, dialectological, language-anthropological and
ethnographical topics (in the broadest possible sense of these terms)
investigated in any linguistic variety.

Abstracts can be submitted in English or Dutch, and should contain no more
than 300 words (excluding references); they should be submitted via the Easy
Abstracts site of the conference:

http://linguistlist.org/easyabs/sociocircle3

Abstract submission deadline: February 29, 2016
Notification of acceptance: March 15, 2016
