Description:

The School of English is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in
Psycholinguistics/ Second Language Acquisition from 1 January 2017. The
successful candidate will undertake teaching in the areas of language
processing and/or second language acquisition and related topics in the School
of English, and will contribute more widely to the School’s teaching and
research activities on both its UK and international campuses.

Candidates should have a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant area of (Applied)
Linguistics or Psychology. A proven track record of publishing as well as
evidence of the ability to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels on
live and distance programmes is essential, covering some (preferably more than
one) of the following topics: language development, second language
acquisition, second language teaching, language and the mind, and research
methods. Evidence of the ability to generate research grant income would be an
advantage.

This is a full-time, permanent post available from 1 January 2017 based in the
School of English, Trent Building, University Park.

Long-listed candidates will be asked to provide items of research for
consideration by the School.  The interview process will include a
presentation of research, teaching and a formal interview. Further information

£34,576 to £46,414 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
