Description:

The Laboratoire de Phonétique et Phonologie (LPP) in Paris
invites applications for a PhD position in
Linguistics/phonetics/ethnomusicology

Within the framework of the LABEX Empirical Foundations of Linguistics
(http://www.labex-efl.org/?q=en). The objective of the research project is to
study Ingressive phonation in speech and song.

The research will be conducted at the LPP under the supervision of Pr. Didier
Demolin & Lise Crevier-Buchman.

The position is available for 36 months starting October 2016. Salary will be
in accordance with the French PhD regulations (“contrat doctoral”).

Candidates should have a background in language sciences (linguistics,
phonetics) or in ethnomusicology. The working languages are French and
English. Applicants from outside France are encouraged to apply.

Candidates should provide a CV, documents indicating the courses taken and
grades obtained during their BA and Masters, together with a letter of
motivation clearly indicating why they believe themselves to be suitable for
the position. 

In addition, we ask that two academic references are sent separately to the
same email address by the 31st of July 2016. Interviews will be done with
preselected candidates. Decision will occur in September 2016.
