The postholder will support the project team involved in the research “Plural
mass nouns as a window into linguistic variation” supported by the Leverhulme
Trust. 
(Fixed-term until 29 September 2017)

Main Duties:

- Prepare the experimental material 
- Recruit participants for the experiments 
- Help analyse the data 
- Be the point of contact among the members of the team  
- Any other duties appropriate to the grade and nature of the post.

Educational and Professional Qualifications:

Essential

- Postgraduate qualification in Linguistics.
- Demonstrable knowledge and research experience relevant to the project.
- Experience working as part of a team on a research project.
- Knowledge and experience in personal computer-based applications including:
word processing, email and experience of the Internet and associated software.
- Evidence of the collection of information and data and its presentation in a
coherent form.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Articulate, enthusiastic and confident manner with the ability to relate to
people at all levels.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work independently and with initiative and to prioritise
workload.
- A developing publications record.
- Willingness and ability to work outside normal working hours.
- Willingness and ability to travel when required inside and outside Northern
Ireland.

Desirable

- PhD in Linguistics 
- Knowledge and experience in statistical analysis software such as R.  
- Knowledge of one of the languages under investigation
- Demonstrable interest in the study of plurality, mass-count distinction, and
implicatures. 
- Record of publications in reputable outlets.
