Research and Outreach Centre Coordinator in Bilingualism
£31,656 to £37,768 (pro rata) per annum

The University seeks to appoint a Research and Outreach Centre Coordinator in
Bilingualism to further enhance our international reputation for knowledge
exchange, outreach and research through our Centre for Bilingualism Matters.

Founded in 2008, the Centre for Bilingualism Matters has facilitated the
growth in an international partnership network, with the aim of fostering
dialogue between academics and wider society. 

The post holder will play a key role in the next exciting phase of development
of the work of the Centre, and will continue to facilitate our partnership
work in engaging policy makers, organisations, parents, education and Health
professionals.

This post is offered on a part-time (17.5 hours), opened-ended basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Needed for the Job:

Essential

- Relevant degree in linguistics or equivalent, plus typically 2 year’s proven
experience in a similar role(s).
- Proven excellent communications skills (English), verbally and in writing
proposals and reports, including the ability to engage with a variety
audiences.
- Ability to design and deliver course and other educational materials and
assess student/participant performance.
- Proven ability to communicate and interact effectively with a variety of
stakeholders and audiences.
- Ability to translate academic research or related activities into
educational and other wider KE/outreach outputs for a variety of stakeholders.
- Excellent time-management and organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise and to work independently but within a team, with
minimum supervision and to solve problems as they arise.

Desirable
- A PhD in linguistics, Psychology or related disciplines.
- A proven background/network in relation to the policy landscape in relation
to bilingualism.
- Experience of knowledge exchange and/or engagement with public bodies.
- Knowledge of languages other than English.
