Meeting Description:

The International Conference on English Language Studies (ICELS) is an ongoing
collaboration between Khon Kaen University (KKU), Suranaree University of
Technology (SUT), Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU) and Mahasarakham
University (MSU). These four distinguished public universities located in the
Northeast of Thailand co-organize the conference to provide a platform for
academics, researchers and teachers of English so that they may discuss and
share experiences with fellow professionals within all sectors of English
language teaching and present their academic work to a wider audience. The
main purpose for the ICELS is to promote communication between academics,
researchers and teachers of English language, coming from various
international environments and backgrounds.

This year's conference will be organized by the Department of Western
Languages and Linguistics (DWLL) within the Faculty of Humanities and Social
Sciences at Mahasarakham University. MSU is a regional university located 10
km from downtown Mahasarakham, between the Northeastern cities of Khon Kaen
and Roi Et. Due to its unique location and close proximity to Laos, the area
has its own unique Issan culture and traditions that inspire curiosity and new
experiences. The venue is set in a lively and self-contained campus that is
only 70 km away from Khon Kaen airport, making it easily accessible for both
national and international participants of the ICELS. The content and
environment of this conference is sure to be beneficial to all individuals
involved, both intellectually and socially for their ongoing futures in ELT.

The LINGUIST List is under the umbrella of Indiana University and
as such can receive donations through Indiana University Foundation. We
also collect donations via eLinguistics Foundation, a registered 501(c)
Non Profit organization with the federal tax number 45-4211155. Either
way, the donations can be offset against your federal and sometimes your
state tax return (U.S. tax payers only). For more information visit the
IRS Web-Site, or contact your financial advisor.

Many companies also offer a gift matching program, such that
they will match any gift you make to a non-profit organization.
Normally this entails your contacting your human resources department
and sending us a form that the Indiana University Foundation fills in
and returns to your employer. This is generally a simple administrative
procedure that doubles the value of your gift to LINGUIST, without
costing you an extra penny. Please take a moment to check if
your company operates such a program.

Thank you very much for your support of LINGUIST!
