Salary: $92,654 - $110,022 p.a. (pro rata) plus 9.5% superannuation  

The School of Languages and Linguistics teaches a broad suite of undergraduate
and graduate courses, maintains a vigorous research higher degree culture and
has an internationally-recognised research profile.  The School now seeks to
appoint a Lecturer (Level B) to fill a 5-year fixed-term position at 0.6 FTE
(roughly equivalent to 3 days per week) to consolidate and further develop the
School's outstanding teaching and research programs.

The position is located in Linguistics & Applied Linguistics, which offers an
undergraduate major and minor in Linguistics & Applied Linguistics, as well as
a graduate Master of Applied Linguistics, in addition to an Honours program
and a large PhD program. The Lecturer will contribute to research in teaching
in Linguistics & Applied Linguistics, with a focus on Applied Linguistics. A
specialisation in an area such as second language learning, discourse
analysis, sociolinguistics, and/or World Englishes is preferred.

As Lecturer in Applied Linguistics, you will be responsible for teaching at
both the undergraduate and graduate levels and will assist in the development
of new subjects as appropriate; supervision of RHD students is also a
requirement. You will also undertake research resulting in publications with
leading publishers in the field, foster engagement links with external
networks/partners nationally and internationally and will take on
administrative tasks associated with the appointment.
