Essential Functions:

Include teaching all levels of Spanish in a variety of settings and times,
which may include evenings, weekends or off-campus; developing curriculum;
leading and developing the existing course of study in Spanish, including
transfer degrees; identifying and recommending potential adjunct faculty;
assisting in the evaluation of adjunct faculty; leading and overseeing the
process of Student Learning Outcomes assessment and analysis for Foreign
Language classes; helping to order and oversee the use of equipment for
Foreign Language classes; participating in the program review and
accreditation processes; serving on college committees; communicating
effectively with students and staff; maintaining currency in pedagogy;
promoting the vitality of the Foreign Language program; and otherwise
fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of instructional staff as required
by Administrative Regulation 7122.

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned master’s degree in Spanish; OR bachelor’s degree in Spanish AND
master’s in another language or linguistics; OR a valid California Community
College Credential; OR the equivalent education and/or experience (requires an
equivalency); AND demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse
academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual
orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

(If submitting transcripts from foreign countries, certification needs to be
included that provides equivalency to United States standards. A listing of
transcript services is available upon request.)

Conditions of Employment:

177 duty days.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary is $54,029 – $81,342 based on education and experience. A doctoral
stipend of $2,021 is available. In addition, the District offers an attractive
fringe benefit package including medical, dental, and vision coverage for the
employee and dependents, and life insurance. Employees are also members of the
California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS).
