Subject: Call for Papers: Community Interpreting (deadline extension)

The Department of Business Administration (Section of Applied Foreign
Languages) of the Technological Educational Institute of Epirus, Greece,
invites submissions of papers for the collective volume in the field of
Community Interpreting in national and international environment. This call is
launched as part of the project dealing with Community Interpreting in Greece
(CiGreece) funded by the European Economic Area (EEA) Agreement (project
manager Stefanos Vlachopoulos). The editors of the volume are Eleftheria
Dogoriti, assistant professor, and Theodoros Vyzas, adjunct lecturer in the
same department. The volume will be published by a Greek publishing house.

The scientific community is invited to contribute to the following questions,
without being restrictive:

- Is the profession of Community interpreting in the field of public services,
in tourist/medical/educational settings and in reception centers for refugees
and asylum seekers a myth or reality?
- What is the role of the Community interpreter and how do we define cultural
mediation?
- Do European or non European countries provide any formal legislation and
policy guidance about community interpreting?
- What is the role of training institutions (admission standards, duration of
training, curricula, qualifications of graduates and instructors) and their
impact on interpreting services?

Authors are invited to submit an abstract of maximum 300 words structured as
follows:

- Abstracts must be attached as a *.doc document to the following addresses:
edogor at teiep.gr, vyzas at teiep.gr
- Please write your text in Greek or English.
- The abstract must be preceded by the following information: Author/s’ name,
professional status, author/s’ affiliation, contact email.

The abstract submission deadline is extended to 18 March 2016. Authors of
accepted abstracts will have to provide full version of their paper until
mid-May.
