Description:

The Department of Speech-Language Pathology, University of Toronto, invites
applications for a full-time tenure-stream appointment in the field of
speech-language pathology. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant
Professor and will commence July 1, 2016.         

This is an exceptional career opportunity to join the Department of
Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Toronto, one of the outstanding
research universities in North America. The department is housed in the
Rehabilitation Sciences Building which provides excellent teaching and
research facilities. The University of Toronto offers unique opportunities for
collaborative and interdisciplinary research, encourages innovative
scholarship, and provides the excitement of teaching a diverse student
population.

The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology,
Communication Disorders or a related field of research and expertise in child
language and/or child language disorders. Completion of a post-doctoral
fellowship is an asset. Preference will be given to candidates with a clinical
background in speech-language pathology. We are interested in candidates with
a clear research vision demonstrated by research excellence, as evidenced in
the number and impact of the candidate’s peer-reviewed international
publications and being applicant or co-applicant on successful external
funding applications. Candidates are expected to be able to mount an original,
competitive and independently funded research program. The candidate should
also be able to show excellence in teaching, as evidenced by a variety of
teaching related activities such as student evaluations and/or teaching
awards, leading successful workshops or seminars, as well as a clear vision
expressed in a teaching statement. Other evidence that will be considered
includes research supervision of doctoral students and/or post-doctoral
fellows.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
