Description:

The Department of English at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen is
offering a permanent position at the postdoctoral level as academic councilor
(akademische Ratsstelle, 100%, E13).

Candidates are expected to have a specialization in linguistics with a focus
on the English language and should be able to contribute to the English study
programs for the teaching profession (gymnasiales Lehramt; Bachelor and Master
of Education) as well as to the teaching methodology program (Fachdidaktik). A
research focus in First or Second Language Acquisition or in a further
subfield of linguistics is desirable as is the integration into the innovative
restructuring of teacher training through research-oriented linguistic
teaching methodology. The successful candidate will take on administrative
tasks as well as student advisory service at the English Department to an
adequate extent.

Requirements for the position are a completed doctoral degree in a relevant
subject, experience in teaching methodology at the academic level, and
typically three years of teaching experience at a grammar school (Gymnasium)
or a comparable type of school. The University of Tübingen attaches importance
to subject-scientific and research-oriented teaching methodology.

The starting date is October 1st, 2016, or as soon as possible thereafter. The
University of Tübingen seeks to raise the number of women in research and
