Meeting Description:
The XIIth Nordic Prosody conference will be held at the Norwegian University
of Science and Technology (NTNU) from 10-12 August 2016. The conference will
deal with prosodic phenomena mainly but not exclusively, in Nordic languages
and in languages spoken around the Baltic Sea.
2nd Call for Papers:
Electronic abstract submission for Nordic Prosody XII is now open via the
conference website.
The deadline for abstract submission is 8 May.
Notification of acceptance: 20 May.
We invite you to submit papers on all aspects of prosodic research
concerning Nordic languages and languages spoken around the Baltic Sea. We
welcome papers on both phonetic and phonological analyses of prosody including
(but not limited to) topics related to the production and perception of
prosody, rhythm and intonation, prosody in speech synthesis and speech
recognition, the semantics and pragmatics of prosody, the acquisition and
teaching of prosody in L1 and L2, and cross-linguistic comparisons of prosody.
Abstracts are limited to one page length (including any references) and should
be submitted online via the conference website. More detailed information
about the formatting requirements are available on the conference website.
Oral presentations are planned to last 20 min with 10 min for questions
and discussion.
A volume of conference proceedings will be published after the conference.
The deadline for full text submission is 2 October 2016.
The keynote speakers of the conference are:
Aditi Lahiri, University of Oxford
Thorstein Fretheim, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim
The registration for the conference will open on 21 May.
Registration fees: regular NOK 1700, student NOK 850.
