Description:

Limited term (9 months) position at the rank of Assistant Professor or
Instructor III, beginning August 15, 2016, subject to budgetary approval.

A Ph.D. (or near completion) is required, combined with a strong independent
teaching record in Linguistics and Japanese language teaching and a record of
research in Linguistics (any subdiscipline) and/or Japanese. The successful
candidate will teach our two-semester Introduction to Linguistics series
(LING2300 and LING2600), and two introductory Japanese language courses
(JPNS1000 and JPNS1100). Ability to teach an upper level Linguistics course,
either First Language Acquisition (LING3405/PSYC3405) or an upper level series
course in the candidate’s area of specialization, will be an asset.
