Description:

The postgraduate position is funded through a project in Linguistics entitled
"Quantity superlatives across languages", awarded by the Swedish Research
Council to docent Elizabeth Coppock (project number 2015-01404). The project
will investigate cross-linguistic diversity in how quantity superlatives (e.g.
"most", "the most") are used and interpreted, with particular emphasis on how
definiteness affects interpretation, through study of a broad sample of

As the position is funded in part by a research grant from the Swedish
Research Council the successful candidate is expected to write her or his
doctoral thesis within that area and to participate in project planning,
development of stimulus materials, data collection, and publication of results
along with analysis of theoretical consequences for typology and formal
semantics.
