Meeting Description:

The 1st International Conference on Kurdish Studies will be held 22-23
September 2016, in Diyarbakır.

ICOKS will provide a scientific atmosphere for all participants all over the
world to explore and discuss the different topics regarding Kurdish Language
and Culture. The conference will also provide an opportunity to learn about
the current issues such as trends in Kurdish Language and Literature,
Linguistics, Kurdish Culture, Sociology and Kurdish Education research.

ICOKS-International Conference on Kurdish Studies is supported by Dicle
University, Turkey. This conference has a great role in the disciplines of
Kurdish Studies.

We hope to see you in the conference.


Call for Papers:

We would like to invite you to the ICOKS and share your expertise, experience,
and new research results about Kurdish Language and Culture, Linguistics,
Kurdish Literature and/or Kurdish education. Your contributions to,
participation in and suggestions for ICOKS will be promising for us to be with
you at the future conferences. It is an honor for us to be with you at the
conference in which your invaluable contributions will help us to have a
fruitful organization.

The official languages of the conference are English, Turkish, Kurmanci,
Sorani and Zazaki. This means that the papers will be presented in all
languages mentioned. 

All accepted abstracts will be published in the conference proceeding and full
papers will be published in the ''International Journal of Kurdish Studies
[IJOKS]'' as a special issue.

Important Dates:

Deadline for Abstract Submission: 1 August, 2016
Deadline for Conference Registration & Payment: 5 September, 2016
Notification of Conference Schedule: 15 September, 2016
Conference date: 22-23 September, 2016
Deadline for Full Paper Submission: 1 September, 2016

General Rules:

- For oral presentation, researchers should submit an abstract of 350 - 4000
words, which includes the objectives/s, methodology, findings and 5 keywords
regarding the research paper/s. Summaries should also include author's /
authors’ full name/s, affiliation/s and contact information.
- Submissions should be original papers and be able to contribute to the
literature.
- In order to be admitted, submitted papers should not be previously available
elsewhere, or yet be submitted for review or publication.
- Abstracts will be evaluated by the Organizing Committee in terms of format
and suitability to the subject of the conference. After this evaluation,
submissions will be sent to the reviewers who constitute the Scientific Board.
Accepted submissions will be announced after the evaluation of the reviewers'
report deemed appropriate to be presented at the conference.

Formatting Rules:

- Page Layout: Page margins should be arranged to be 2.5 cm from the left,
bottom, top and right sides.
- Font: Times New Roman 12pt should be preferred, text should be justified and
typed using 1.5 line spacing.
- Title: Times New Roman 14 pt, all letters capitalized, bold and centered to
the document.
- Author / authors' names: Times New Roman 12 pt, each word capitalized,
centered to the document. Corresponding author should be notified using a
footnote. Author / Authors' Affiliations: Times New - Roman 12 pt, each word
capitalized, centered to the document.
