Description:

Lecturer position in Writing and English as a Second Language programs. 

This Lecturer will specialize in the intersections of ESL, digital media, and
multimodal composition.
The responsibilities of this position will be fulfilled through a combination
of teaching and administrative service, including teaching ESL and non-ESL
first-year writing courses, as well as upper level courses in writing,
rhetoric, and/or linguistics courses. Administrative duties will include
curriculum development, program assessment, student placement, and faculty
recruiting, training, and mentoring, especially related to our digital
initiatives of hybrid courses and multimodal composition.

Tasks:

Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. 
Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including
administrative, supervisory, and other functions.

Minimum qualifications include: 

Bachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise, including TESOL, Applied
Linguistics, or Rhetoric & Composition/Writing Studies; three years’
experience teaching college writing courses; evidence of effective teaching; a
working knowledge of current TESOL techniques and practice; and proficiency in
teaching with technology. 

Additional welcomed qualifications include experience teaching in/training in
multimodal composing and hybrid courses; fluency with data management
platforms such as Excel and course content platforms such as Wordpress;
evidence of participation in disciplinary conferences or other relevant
professional development; and experience with curriculum development and
faculty training. Master's degree in English preferred.
