Description:

The Department of Linguistics at the Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf
invites applications for a Lecturer in semantics, to begin October 1, 2017. 

A secondary specialization in pragmatics, philosophy of language, syntax,
psycholinguistics, computational linguistics or another area of cognitive
science as well as demonstrated experience with empirical and experimental
methods (text/corpus linguistics) is desirable. 

The successful candidate will conduct research in the domain of semantics and
related research areas, participate in the preparation of grant proposals, and
teach a limited number of classes in semantics, pragmatics and logic at the
BA, MA and PhD levels. While a good command of German is desirable, it is not
essential.

The start date is October 1, 2017, and the initial appointment is until
September 30, 2018 (with the possibility of extension for up to 5 years).
Salary is on the German scale TV-L E13, %100. The successful candidate will
join an interdisciplinary and international research community in the
Department of Linguistics and the affiliated Collaborative Research Center:

Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. degree (or an equivalent degree) by the
time of application, a strong background in linguistic theory and demonstrated
