Meeting Description:

The 7th International Conference on Speech Motor Control will be held 5-8 July
2017, hosted by the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. The aim of this
conference is to advance interdisciplinary and fundamental research in speech
production and pathology by bringing together prominent scientists and
talented young researchers of multiple fundamental disciplines (neurosciences,
engineering, human movement sciences, genetics, psychology, and linguistics)
as well as clinical areas (neurosurgery, medicine, and speech and language
pathology).

The atmosphere of the conference is friendly and supportive. There are no
parallel sessions, poster presentations are valued equal to oral
presentations, excellent catering keeps attendees together during the day,
thereby stimulating both formal and informal exchange of ideas and
experiences. As a sign of positive feedback the organizers of the SMCs have
witnessed many returning participants.

Call for Papers:

The University of Groningen welcomes the 7th International Conference on
Speech Motor Control. The aim of this conference is to advance
interdisciplinary and fundamental research in speech production and pathology
by bringing together prominent scientists and talented young researchers of
multiple fundamental disciplines (neurosciences, engineering, human movement
sciences, genetics, psychology, and linguistics) as well as clinical areas
(neurosurgery, medicine, and speech and language pathology).

Submissions are encouraged on topics related to normal and impaired speech
production, with a special interest for the following themes:

- Thought-Action-Perception
- Speech as a sensory-motor system
- Modelling of Speech and Speech Technology
- Windows on the Brain
- Speech Development
- Speech Disorders
- Evolution of Speech

Abstract Guidelines:

Abstracts are welcomed for a poster (A0 portrait) or an oral presentation (15
min + 5 min questions).

Abstracts should include a title, and names and affiliations of authors, and
3-5 keywords.

The abstract length should be one A4-sized page, and no longer than 400 words.

All abstracts should be written in English and submitted in pdf format.

Abstracts must be submitted online using the LINGUIST List EasyAbs abstract
submission website, which will provide additional instructions. The submission
