The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) at the University
of Alberta is pleased to announce a new tenure-track Assistant Professor
position in child language.  Specialists in any area of child language are
invited to apply. Applicants with research interests in language development
and/or disorders in children from culturally/linguistically diverse
backgrounds, including indigenous peoples, immigrants, and refugees, are
particularly encouraged.  Although the position is posted at the assistant
professor level, a more senior level appointment may be possible for
exceptional candidates.  Salary will be commensurate with experience. 
Compensation includes a competitive year-round salary and excellent benefits.

The Department trains speech-language pathology students at the graduate
level.  Our in-house speech-language clinic and early education program
provide initial child and adult placements and research opportunities.  For

Key Responsibilities:

- Teach graduate level courses in child language supported by up-to-date
technology and excellent technical support
- Develop an active funded research program in an area of specialization in
child language
- Supervise master's and doctoral student theses and projects

Qualifications:

- Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
- Evidence of potential to develop an active research program in child
language
- Evidence of teaching ability
- Eligibility for registration as speech-language pathologist is desirable
