PhD research positions / doctoral research positions

The Department of German, Linguistics, at Leibniz Universität Hannover invites
applications for two PhD research positions /doctoral research position for
three years (German scale TV-L E13, FwN 65%) in linguistics of German.

The successful candidates will work in a team in the research project
“Variation and Grammaticalization in Verbal Scene Constructions” headed by
Gabriele Diewald, funded by the DFG Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German
Research Foundation).

The project investigates the interdependency of constructional variation and
grammaticalization of verbal scene constructions in Present-day German.

The ideal candidate for position (I) will:

- Hold an excellent MA or equivalent degree in Linguistics of German or
General Linguistics
- Have specific expertise in at least two of the following areas:
grammaticalization, construction grammar, cognitive linguistics, verbal
categories
- Have native speaker competence of German.

The ideal candidate for position (II) will:

- Hold an excellent MA or equivalent degree in Linguistics of German or
Applied Linguistics
- Hold a specialization in corpus linguistics
- Have native speaker competence of German.

The positions are available for three years, starting at the earliest date
possible.

The candidates need to take residence at Hannover.
