The Department of Linguistics at the University of Alberta invites
applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in
Phonology/Phonetics.

Applicants must hold a PhD in Linguistics with a specialization in
Phonology/Phonetics and secondary specialization(s) in first, second, or
heritage language acquisition, sociolinguistics or psycholinguistics.  Other
secondary specializations may be considered.  Applicants must demonstrate a
track-record of peer-reviewed scholarly publications and relevant teaching. 
Ability to teach courses in phonetics is an asset.  

Successful candidates will be expected to develop an innovative and robust
externally-funded research program and other activities relating to
Phonology/Phonetics, regularly engage in relevant domestic and international
research networks, supervise and mentor graduate students, and provide service
to the Department, the Faculty, the University, as well as to professional and
external communities.  The successful candidate is expected to offer
linguistics courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels in phonology,
general linguistics, and in their research area.
