Subject: Advice about Wearable Technology for Fieldwork

 
We need advice about wearable technology, which we want to buy for linguistic
fieldwork.

Specifically:

1. What is the best equipment to record spontaneous speech data among children
and adults that the subject can wear on themselves and that will only record
when a person speaks?

2. What is the best equipment to video record speech and gesture in
spontaneous interactions? Will it work if, for example, a subject wears a
go-pro camera or glasses that can film and record their interlocutor talking
and gesturing?

We would appreciate any thoughts on or experiences of using wearing tech in
sociolinguistic and anthropological linguistic fieldwork.
