Location: Bologna, Italy

Linguistic Field(s): Applied Linguistics

Call Deadline: 30-Oct-2016

Meeting Description:

ALTE International Conferences provide a unique multilingual forum, sharing
insights and practical knowledge gained from teaching and testing a huge range
of languages in different contexts around the world.

ALTE 6th International Conference will bring together researchers, teachers,
testing specialists and policy makers to discuss how language testing can
support better language learning. ALTE's multilingual perspective makes this a
unique opportunity to discuss the teaching, learning and assessment of the
full range of global, national, regional, minority and signed languages in
Europe and beyond.

Our three strands consider teaching, learning and assessment...

(1) ... in a globalised economy
(2) ... in a multilingual world
(3) ... in the digital era

These strands will be complemented by special sessions on Language Assessment
for Migration and Integration, CLIL and Learning Oriented Assessment.

The event will also feature opportunities for first-time presenters, short
'Work in Progress' presentations on on-going research delivered to small
delegate groups, and poster sessions.

Call for Papers:

The deadline has been extended until 30 October 2016.

We are now welcoming abstracts for the ALTE 6th International Conference, and
invite contributions from across the language assessment community - from
academics, researchers, teachers, policy makers, regulators and language
education experts. We also encourage presentations from New Researchers, with
ALTE Scholarships available for the most promising contributions.

Abstracts should focus on one or several of the conference strands, and
encourage making connections between language learning, teaching and
assessment (1) in a globalised economy, (2) in a multilingual world, and (3)
in the digital era.

Presentation formats:

Paper presentation: 15-minute session, plus 5 minute Q&A
Poster presentation: for display at the Conference
Work in Progress (WIP) presentation: 10-minute session, plus 5 minute Q&A
New Researcher presentation (scholarships available)
Panel Sessions and Workshops

We welcome presentations in English, Italian, French, German, Spanish and
International Sign Language (ISL).

Accepted abstracts will be confirmed by the end of December 2016.
