Meeting Description:

The MIFLC 2017 - Mountain Interstate Foreign Language Conference will be held
from 05-Oct-2017 to 07-Oct-2017.

Established in 1951, The Mountain Interstate Foreign Language Conference
(MIFLC) (www.miflc.com) is an organization of teachers, scholars, and graduate
students dedicated to the advancement of literary, linguistic, and pedagogical
scholarship in foreign languages. It provides participants with a forum in
which to exchange ideas and to advance the cause of teaching and research in
the states of Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina,
Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. Today, its annual convention draws
between 200 and 250 academic professionals from the United States and abroad
for a three-day program featuring nearly 70 sessions as well as other events,
including workshops, plenary sessions, social gatherings, a banquet and book
displays. The conference also sponsors the MIFLC Review, an annual refereed
journal of selected papers on foreign languages and literatures from the
conference and edited by Jeremy Cass.

Call for Papers:

The Mountain Interstate Foreign Language Conference is an annual forum of
university, college, and high school scholars and teachers for exchanging
ideas and advancing the cause of scholarship in foreign language studies.

Abstract Submission Information:

Abstracts can be submitted from 15-Oct-2016 until 15-Apr-2017.

Presentations are accepted for 20 minute papers, 1.5 hour panels/roundtables,
and 1.5 hour workshops in any topic related to world languages.

If you are interested in presenting an original paper or proposing an
organized panel, please submit a 250-word abstract online using the EasyAbs
page at http://linguistlist.org/easyabs/MIFLC2017.

Presentations may be in the language with which the presenter feels most
comfortable; however, they are  limited to no more than 20 minutes. Papers of
authors in absentia will not be read.

Submissions of abstracts are welcome in the following languages: Arabic,
Catalan, Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Japanese,
Portuguese, Russian, Spanish.

We are especially interested in papers dealing with the following fields of
study, topics, approaches and issues in the profession:
