Description:

The Department of English at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen is
offering a permanent position at the postdoctoral level as academic councilor
(akademische Ratsstelle, 100%, E13 TV-L).

Candidates are expected to have a specialization in formal semantics with
expertise in the English language. They will contribute to the English study
programs for the teaching profession (gymnasiales Lehramt; Bachelor and Master
of Education) and English linguistics. A research focus in formal semantics is
required plus secondary areas of specialization that complement the existing
strengths of the department. The successful candidate will take on service
tasks at the English Department such as student advising and examinations. 

Requirements for the position are a completed doctoral degree in a relevant
subject area, experience in teaching linguistics including semantics and an
active research record.

The starting date is April 1st, 2017, or as soon as possible thereafter. The
University of Tübingen seeks to raise the number of women in research and
teaching and therefore encourages qualified women to apply for the position.
