Description:

Title: Search Engine Optimization and Knowledge Management Consultant
(Functional)
Location: San Diego, CA  

Summary:  SoftClouds LLC is looking for functional consultants who can work
with various Knowledge Management applications as a search engine optimization
(SEO) and knowledge management (KM) specialist. The position entails working
with various search dictionaries and rules, knowledge repository configuration
and maintenance.  We work primarily with Oracle Knowledge Management, Oracle
Service Cloud and Knowledge Advanced, as well as Salesforce. The position is
based in San Diego, CA. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Working with various search engine systems to create and modify concepts and
rules as needed.
- Optimizing search results and conduct search tuning with customers.
- Working with various Knowledge Management systems to configure and modify
repositories.
- Working with various business intelligence tools to generate and interpret
search and knowledge management analytics reports.
- Participating in and eventually taking the lead in professional service
engagements in installing, configuring, updating, modifying, and tuning search
engines and knowledge management systems.  
- Provide documentation on the actions taken during these engagements as
needed. 
- Willingness to travel for projects and attend various training sessions and
professional conventions as needed.

Required Qualifications:

- At least a Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year college or university in
linguistics or related areas.
- At least 2 years of experience with search engine optimization, dictionary
management, knowledge management. 
- At least 3 years of work experience in a customer facing role in corporate
setting. 
- Proficiency with Linux and Windows environments.
- Proficiency with regular expressions.
- Ability to work in teams in multitasking environments.
- Good problem solving skills, excellent troubleshooting skills, eagerness to
learn new technologies.
- Consultative skills, including presentation, client interaction, and active
participation in discussions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Must be willing to travel (up to 25%).

Preferred Qualifications:

- Familiarity with one of the following enterprise search and/or content
management tools: Inquira/Oracle Knowledge Management, Knowledge Foundation
Coveo, Saleforce Knowledge, Google Search Appliance.  
- Familiarity with some Customer Relations Management system (CRM): Siebel,
Oracle Service Cloud, Salesforce, CRM On Demand.
- Familiarity with Business Reporting Tools, e.g., OBIEE. 
- Proficiency in a non-English language. 
- Familiarity with Unix–based text and file processing tools, such as comm,
diff, grep. 
- Familiarity with XML, XSLT, HTML, and similar web technologies.
- Light programming experience, preferably in Perl, JavaScript, or Java.
- Demonstrated Business Analyst acumen.
