Description:

San Diego State University seeks a director of Language Acquisition Resource
Center at the rank of associate or full professor who can provide vision and
leadership in foreign language education to foster innovative,
interdisciplinary, and collaborative teaching, research, and resource
development at the intersection of federally funded initiatives and college
and university activities. The selected candidate will be housed in and
teaching for one of the following participating departments to be determined
by the candidate: European Studies, Linguistics and Asian/Middle Eastern
Languages, or Spanish and Portuguese. 

An earned doctorate in an area relevant to second/foreign language education
is required. Areas of specialization may include applied linguistics, testing
and assessment, cultural/regional studies, literature, media studies, and/or
instructional technology. The successful candidate will demonstrate a track
record of academic leadership, dynamic, learner-centered teaching, and
grant-funded research, scholarship or creative work. Possibility of tenure
upon hire depending on record of accomplishments.
