Meeting Description:

Scholars interested in all aspects of Oceanic linguistics are invited to
network, collaborate, share findings, and be stimulated. 

Conference plenary speakers will be: Dr. Will McClatchey: ''Finding reciprocal
value in language for botanists and linguists,'' and Dr. Alex François:
''Words from our Ancestors: The art of sung poetry in northern Vanuatu.''


2nd Call for Papers:

Scholars are invited to submit abstracts for 20-minute talks (plus 10 minutes
for discussion) on any aspect of language or linguistics specifically related
to Oceanic languages. Presentations which particularly relate to the themes of
Ethnobotany or Ethnoarts or which are presented in memory of Frank Lichtenberk
are welcomed and should be marked as such in order to be considered for the
relevant special sessions. 

Submissions are limited to one individual and one joint submission per author.
Abstracts should be single-spaced, 12-point font and limited to two A4 (or US
letter-sized) pages with 1-inch or 2.5-cm margins on all sides (including
data, figures, and references). Authors' names should not appear on the
abstract itself, but each abstract should include a title. Abstracts should be
submitted as PDF files.

Deadline for abstract submission: November 1, 2016
Notification of acceptance: December 15, 2016

Submission Instructions:

Attach each abstract as a PDF file to an email and send to
ConfOnOceanicLinguistics at gmail.com. Include the name and professional
affiliation (if any) of the author(s) in the body of the email, and also
indicate if the abstract should be considered for one of the special sessions.
