Meeting Description:

The 8th International Conference on ELT in China will be held in Xi’an on
October 20-22, 2017 by China English Language Education Association of the
China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese. The
International Conference on ELT in China is a large-scale academic conference
with the first session held in Guangzhou in 1985. So far seven sessions have
been successfully organized. The conference is one of the biggest and highest
academic standard international conferences on English language teaching in
China. This conference has promoted the development of English language
teaching and research in China and enhanced the communication between national
ELT teachers, researchers and their foreign counterparts.

Call for Papers:

The organizing committee invites keynote speakers in and abroad China. We now
invite proposals for individual papers, posters, and symposia.

Forms of Presentation: 

We invite proposals for symposia, individual papers, and posters. An abstract
can only be submitted to one form of presentation.

- Symposia:

Symposia will be allocated 2-hour blocks. Organizers may invite 5 to 10 panel
members. Each symposium consists of an introduction, presentations, discussion
(optional), Q&A, and conclusion. Organizers need to provide the title,
symposium introduction and all the abstracts.

- Individual Paper Presentations:

A block of 25 minutes will be designated for an individual paper presentation,
in which 20 minutes are for the presentation and 5 minutes for discussion.
Titles and abstracts of individual paper presentations, either in English or
Chinese, need to be submitted. If the abstract is in Chinese, English title
and abstract should be provided as well.

- Poster Presentations:

Please submit titles and abstracts, either in English or Chinese.
 

Proposals:

Proposals for all presentations, including symposia should include a title (no
more than 20 words), an abstract (no more than 250 words), and a brief general
introduction (no more than 50 words). Information about authors need include:
name, title, education, affiliation, email and mobile number. Symposium
proposals need also include symposium title (no more than 20 words), symposium
theme abstract (no more than 350 words), a brief general introduction to be
included in the conference program (no more than 75 words), and all the
abstracts’ title (no more than 20 words), abstracts (no more than 250 words),
and brief general introductions of each abstract (no more than 50 words).
 
Submission:

All proposals should be submitted by completing the online submission form on
the ELT 2017 official site: http://elt.celea.org.cn/2017.

Submission Deadline: December 31 2016

Anonymous review will be conducted by the conference committee and the
acceptance letter will be sent out by March 31 2017.

The paper from ELT 2017 will be selected and published on Chinese Journal of
Applied Linguistics after the conference.
