Meeting Description:

On Thursday January 19 and Friday January 20 2017 the third Groningen
Symposium on Language and Social Interaction (http://gsli.nl) will take place
at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. The theme of the symposium is
'Survey Interview Interaction' and it is organized in honor of Wil Dijkstra
and Hanneke Houtkoop-Steenstra (1950-2002), two Dutch scholars that have
studied interviewer-respondent interaction from different perspectives. 

Keynote speakers are Fred Conrad (University of Michigan), Nora Cate Schaeffer
(University of Wisconsin) and Wil Dijkstra (who will be presenting on Sequence
Viewer).

In addition, the symposium will include presentations from: 

- Jose Benki (University of Michigan)
- Jessica Broome (Jessica Broome Research)
- Hanyu Sun (Westat), Marieke Haan (University of Groningen)
- Geert Loosveldt (University of Leuven)
- Kristen Olson (University of Nebraska)
- Jolene Smyth (University of Nebraska)
- Michael Schober (The New School for Social Research)
- Bob Belli (University of Nebraska)
- Doug Maynard (University of Wisconsin)
- Mike Huises (University of Groningen)\
- Yfke Ongena (University of Groningen).

Registration of the event will open soon (to be announced separately).

Call for Papers:

The program of the symposium will soon be finalized, but there is still a
chance to submit an abstract and be part of the program. The deadline for
abstracts is October 15, a notice of acceptance will be send by November 1
