Description:

The Department of Linguistics at Université Paris Diderot (Paris 7) is
expecting – pending approval – to open a position at the rank of Assistant
Professor (Maître de Conférences - MCF) in History of Linguistics and
Historical Linguistics, starting in Fall 2017.

Candidates must show promise of strong scholarship, a good publication record,
and a commitment to excellency in teaching. The successful candidate will have
dual expertise in History of Linguistics and Historical Linguistics. Expertise
in ancient language(s) is expected.

The candidate is expected to join the Laboratoire d'Histoire des Théories
Linguistiques (HTL – http://htl.linguist.univ-paris-diderot.fr/) and the
broader research network to which it belongs, the LabEx “Empirical Foundations
of Linguistics” (EFL – http://www.labex-efl.org/).

Teaching will involve graduate and undergraduate courses and graduate seminars
in History of Linguistics and in diachronic linguistics in the Linguistics
department (http://www.linguist.univ-paris-diderot.fr/). A working knowledge
of French is expected.

Salary is set in accordance with the French state-regulated public service
salary scale.

1. Qualification. 

All candidates (French and international) are required to have received the
“qualification” by the national committee (CNU – Conseil National des
Universités) before they can apply for a position. For the qualification
stage, candidates are invited to register online and submit their dossier
before October 25th, 2016 on the Galaxie website of the French "Ministère de
l'Enseignement Supérieur".

2. Job application. 

The position, if approved, will start on September 1st 2017. The website for
