Meeting Description:

The 5th International Conference on Mande Languages and Linguistics brings
together specialists in all aspects of the study of Mande languages.


Abstracts are invited for conference presentations addressing any aspect of
the analysis, description or comparison of Mande languages.

Instructions for abstract submissions:

Abstracts in English or French should be no longer than one page A4 (normal
margins of 2,5 cm on each side, single spaced lines, Times New Roman, Doulos
SIL or DejaVu font, 12 pt font size), with the possibility of using an
additional page for data and references. Abstracts should contain no personal
information about the author(s). Please make sure that all examples are
carefully glossed (using the Leipzig Glossing Conventions and explaining any
supplementary glosses) and that tones are marked on all examples (unless the
example comes from a written source where tones are not marked). All
theoretical approaches are welcome, but abstracts should state a clear
research hypothesis and provide an indication of the relevance of its
conclusions for a broad audience of linguists interested in Mande languages.

Abstracts should be submitted as an MS Word or Open Office Writer file via the
conference website. The file name of your abstract should be the first two
words of the title of your abstract separated by a hyphen.

Funding:

We might be able to assist a limited number of participants who encounter
difficulties in obtaining sufficient funding to come to France. Please contact
the organizers (mande5 at sciencesconf.org) to let us know that you are in need
of financial assistance, specifying the kind of assistance you require.

Important dates:

Deadline for abstracts: November 15th 2017
Notification of acceptance for abstracts: December 1st 2017
Deadline for confirming your participation: January 15th 2018
Conference: April 18th-20th 2018
