Description:

Qualifications:
Ph.D. (or ABD) in Spanish or Hispanic Studies with work in linguistics, second
language acquisition, and teaching experience; additional generalist
qualifications desirable.
          
Responsibilities:
Teaching responsibilities (four courses per semester) will include all levels
of undergraduate Spanish language courses (elementary, intermediate,
composition, culture/history/ literature), general linguistics (with emphasis
on English), grammars of English, and second language acquisition. Applicants
must have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and be enthusiastic
about teaching skill-based courses, advising undergraduates, and working as a
team with colleagues in Spanish and TESOL. Departmental service is expected.  

Compensation:
Nine-month contract. Salary determined by education and experience. 

Appointment date:
Position begins mid-August 2017. EMU reserves the right to fill the position
at any time or keep the position open.
