Meeting Description:

This conference is dedicated to the memory of two major figures of French and
English linguistics: Jean Dubois and Françoise Dubois-Charlier. Indeed, their
impact throughout the years 1960-2000 is incontestable. Their influence is due
not only to their talent, but also to the far-reaching extent of their work -
17 books and 7 articles in common, to mention but a few of their publications
- and to their leading role in the publication of the dictionaries and
journals edited by the Editions Larousse.

Keynote Speakers:

Danielle Leeman (Université Paris Nanterre et CNRS-ICAR)

Do not hesitate to contact us for further information.

Call for Papers:

We are pleased to inform you that the deadline for submission for the
conference in tribute to Jean Dubois and Françoise Dubois-Charlier is extended
to: 27 April 2017.

The conference will also be the opportunity to pay homage to Michel Arrivé,
who was to be one of our keynote speakers.

His untimely death fills us with great sadness.

The communications can take the form either of a scientific presentation
(poster or oral presentation) or of a tribute.

Scientific presentations can address the following themes, which were all of
interest to Jean Dubois and Françoise Dubois-Charlier:

- French syntax, English syntax
- Distributional and Transformational grammar theories
- The semantics/syntax relationship
- French morphology
- Idioms
- Lexicology
- Lexicography
- Discourse analysis and more specifically that of political discourse
- Electronic dictionaries and TAL (automatic language translation)
- Didactics in French as a foreign language; English teaching didactics
- Neurolinguistics
- Psycholinguistics

The conference is organized by the Laboratoire Parole et Langage (Aix
Marseille Université), in collaboration with the MoDyCo (Université Paris
Nanterre), and will be held in Aix-en-Provence (France).

Submittal Rules:

You are requested to submit a title and a maximum one-page résumé (A4, Times
New Roman 12, single spaced), bibliography included. Please send two PDF
files, one anonymous; the other with name(s), first name(s) of the author or
authors, as well as your professional status and affiliation.
You may submit proposals either for oral presentation or in poster form.
Please indicate your preference.

The languages of the conference will be French and English.

The communications will subsequently be submitted for publication.

Deadline for proposals: April 9 2017

Please send your proposal both to Laetitia Leonarduzzi
(laetitia.leonarduzzi at univ-amu.fr) and Denis Le Pesant
