Description:

The Max-Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics in Frankfurt, Germany,
investigates the attentional, cognitive and affective mechanisms of aesthetic
perception and evaluation.

The Institute currently offers Postdoc positions for projects regarding the
aesthetic perception and evaluation of language and literature. Postdoc
positions vary in duration, depending on the type of contract. Starting date
is flexible.

Applicants should hold a PhD degree, have an excellent record in their
respective disciplines (psychology, literary studies, linguistics,
computational linguistics, or neuroscience), be interested in cooperations
across disciplines and prepared to work in a multi-language environment.

Applicants should submit a 5-10 pages prospectus of their research project, or
at least a sketch of ideas, along with two reading samples. 

Salaries are determined following the salary scale E 13 (German TVÖD/Bund);
substantial social benefits come on top of the salary.
