Description:

As a Senior Speech Scientist you will work on the customization of
Text-To-Speech (TTS) output according to customer requirements. You will
design and integrate regular expressions for text transformations, prompt
recordings, prompt tunings and transcription modification into a consistent
delivery of the Speech Output Standard Service Team. Computational linguistics
and phonetic skills are a required background knowledge. These are needed to
understand the algorithmic and acoustic implications of each customization
decision. 
 
Responsibilities:
 
- Analyze customer requirements (direct customer contact) and text
specifications for TTS output 
- Create text transformation rules and dictionaries for TTS
- Train and supervise language experts working on TTS improvements
- Integrate custom speech data into project deliveries
- QA and validate results for integrated data
- Analyze issues reported by customers and fix them by rules and other
customization mechanisms
- Interact with developers to improve TTS output
- Give feedback and provide ideas for tools development
 
Qualifications:

Number of Years of Work Experience: No working experiences needed, but
adequate education at university is a must.
 
- Background in computational linguistics and phonetics
- Logistics and organizational managing skills
- Excellent English or German language skills (written and spoken)
- Scripting Skills (Python or Perl)
- Experience with regular expressions
- Must be willing to travel occasionally
 
Preferred Skills:

- Experience with Text To Speech
- Experience with XML and/or other Markup Languages
- Skills in one more natural language
 
Education: Studies of computational linguistics or phonetics or similar with
Master or PhD degree
