Linguistic Field(s): Discourse Analysis

Call Deadline: 06-Aug-2017

Meeting Description:

Following the 2016 conference on screen-mediated presence, the 2018 IMPEC
conference will focus on the relationship between body and screen.

The constant innovations in the digital field lead to new configurations of
the body-screen relationship, whether it is for gaming, for work or for
communication. In our analyses, these new relationships will be studied from
the point of view of the following four subtopics:

- The body in screen-mediated interactions
- The body on the screen
- The body through the screen: augmented body and virtual body
- The body of the screen

Call for Papers:

Presentations can take one of three forms: conference papers, posters,
symposia.
All proposals must be made anonymous, that is, nothing in the text or
bibliography that you submit should reveal your identity (review will be
anonymous and double-blind).
Each participant can have a maximum of two submissions (whether serving as
primary or co-author).

Conference Papers:

Proposals should include a 4000-5000-character (including spaces) abstract and
a short bibliography. Proposals may be written in French or English.
Accepted conference papers can be presented using a slide show (translated
into English if the oral is in French). 20 minutes will be allocated for each
presentation with an additional 10 minutes for questions.

Posters:

Proposals should include a 4000-5000-character (including spaces) abstract and
a short bibliography.
Posters will be formatted as follows: A0 size, portrait-style orientation,
text in French or English. Each participant will have 3-5 minutes (depending
on the number of accepted poster presentations) to present his or her poster
aloud (in French or English) during a session that will be indicated in the
conference program.
An honorary prize will be awarded to the best poster.

Symposia:

Proposals for symposia should include a 10,000-12,000-character (including
spaces) abstract along with a short bibliography. The summary of the symposium
should include: a) issues tied to the chosen theme, b) abstracts of the
individual papers (so 3 to 5 in abstracts, without author's names1 because the
evaluations must be anonymous).
Each symposium will consist of 3-5 conference papers under the direction of a
symposium organizer and will be last for 1.5-2.5 hours.

1 The author's names concerned in each presentation must be indicated in the
field ''Authors'' provided for this purpose.

French and English will be the primary languages of the conference.

For more information about the submission process, please go to this page:
https://impec.sciencesconf.org/resource/page/id/10.

The deadline for submissions is October 6 2017. The submission process is
online only on this website.
